Vaishali Chaurasiya wins Young Investigator Award for the best oral presentation at SATY conference
Vaishali Chaurasiya, who is preparing her PhD thesis at Minerva Institute’s Lipid Signaling and Homeostasis group, was awarded Young Investigator Award for the best oral presentation at the 18th annual conference of the Finnish Atherosclerosis Society (SATY ry) held on June 12-13, 2025 at the Paasitorni Conference Center, Helsinki. The title of the winning presentation was Large-Scale Molecular Patterns Driving Alterations in Adipose-Resident Cells During Obesity and Weight Loss.
In this study Chaurasiya and her collaborators have identified molecular patterns in adipocytes and adipose tissue endothelial cells that associate with obesity and its metabolic comorbidities. The work reveals novel aspects in the pathophysiology of obesity, putatively helping to identify subjects at increased risk of comorbidities.
