S\u00e4rskild uppm\u00e4rksamhet har \u00e4gnats \u00e5t dendrittaggar (eng. spines). Dendrittaggar \u00e4r sm\u00e5 utspr\u00e5ng i de neuronala dendriterna d\u00e4r de postsynaptiska komponenterna i excitatoriska synapserna finns i hj\u00e4rnan. Specifika upps\u00e4ttningar av nya taggar uppst\u00e5r n\u00e4r man f\u00e5r nya erfarenheter eller f\u00f6rv\u00e4rvar nya f\u00e4rdigheter, och utg\u00f6r grunden f\u00f6r att beh\u00e5lla dem. D\u00e4rf\u00f6r \u00e4r st\u00f6rningar i regleringen av dendrittaggar involverade i m\u00e5nga neurologiska sjukdomar, fr\u00e5n minnesst\u00f6rningar till psykiatriska sjukdomar. V\u00e5rt m\u00e5l \u00e4r att p\u00e5 ett \u00f6vergripande s\u00e4tt f\u00f6rst\u00e5 hur uppkomsten av dendrittaggar regleras i nervcellerna.<\/p>\n<p>Ett annat viktigt forskningsobjekt \u00e4r effekterna av perifer inflammation p\u00e5 inl\u00e4rning och minne. \u00c4ven om de direkta effekterna av akut eller kronisk inflammation p\u00e5 hj\u00e4rnan \u00e4r relativt v\u00e4lk\u00e4nda, \u00e4r det oklart om inflammationen orsakar l\u00e5ngvariga f\u00f6r\u00e4ndringar i hj\u00e4rnan. Gruppen unders\u00f6ker de l\u00e5ngsiktiga effekterna av perifer inflammation p\u00e5 kognitiva processer och identifierar de celler som deltar i dessa f\u00f6r\u00e4ndringar.<\/p>\n<p>I studien anv\u00e4nder gruppen en musmodell (CAIA) f\u00f6r reumatoid artrit. Resultaten av studien kommer att bidra till att utveckla b\u00e4ttre behandlingsstrategier f\u00f6r inflammatoriska neurologiska sjukdomar som Alzheimers sjukdom eller long covid<\/p>\n<p><u>Metoder<\/u>: Vi anv\u00e4nder en strategi nerifr\u00e5n och upp, d\u00e4r molekyl\u00e4ra mekanismer som l\u00e4rs in i enklare in vitro-system, s\u00e5som provr\u00f6r, fibroblaster eller dissocierade neuroner i hippocampus, som f\u00f6rs upp till mer komplexa system, s\u00e5som organotypiska hj\u00e4rnskivor och in vivo-mushj\u00e4rnan.
