De kardiovaskul\u00e4ra sjukdomarna utg\u00f6r fortfarande den vanligaste d\u00f6dsorsaken i Finland. V\u00e5ra projekt innefattar prospektiva studier och anv\u00e4ndning av ny teknik f\u00f6r att bed\u00f6ma utvecklingen av det kardiovaskul\u00e4ra systemet fr\u00e5n tidig barndom till ton\u00e5ren och ung vuxen\u00e5lder, och hur detta p\u00e5verkas av fosterstadiet, olika sjukdomar, behandlingar och kardiovaskul\u00e4ra riskfaktorer. <\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Utvecklingen av klinisk ateroskleros som \u00e4r vanlig f\u00f6rekommande hos vuxna och \u00e4ldre personer \u00e4r en multifaktoriell process som inleds tidigt i barna\u00e5ren. Denna process p\u00e5verkas av inte endast genetiska faktorer men \u00e4ven av sjukdomar och riskfaktorer fr\u00e5n tidig barndom eller till och med fr\u00e5n fosterstadiet. Hur dessa p\u00e5verkar utvecklingen av hj\u00e4rtats och blodk\u00e4rlens struktur och funktion hos v\u00e4xande barn med medf\u00f6dda eller senare uppkomna sjukdomar \u00e4r fortfarande oklart. Detta beror delvis p\u00e5 brister i metoder som i f\u00f6rsta hand utvecklats f\u00f6r bed\u00f6mning av vuxna med en mer avancerad sjukdomsbild,   <\/span><\/p>\n<p>Vi studerar utvecklingen av art\u00e4rfunktionen och den vaskul\u00e4ra strukturen med hj\u00e4lp av en ny icke-invasiv metod baserad p\u00e5 ultrah\u00f6gfrekvent ultraljud (UHF, frekvens 22\u201370 MHz). Vi unders\u00f6ker barn, och deras familjemedlemmar, fr\u00e5n fosterstadiet till ung vuxen\u00e5lder. Vi unders\u00f6ker hur kardiovaskul\u00e4r risk \u00f6verf\u00f6rs fr\u00e5n f\u00f6r\u00e4ldrar till barn f\u00f6r att p\u00e5 sikt belysa utvecklingen av klinisk ateroskleros och kardiovaskul\u00e4r sjukdom. Vi unders\u00f6ker den kardiovaskul\u00e4ra riskprofilen (kroppssammans\u00e4ttning, blodtryck, kost, fysisk aktivitet, lipider, glukos och inflammation) i kombination med detaljerad kardiovaskul\u00e4r fenotypning. Vi s\u00f6ker ocks\u00e5 innovativa s\u00e4tt att f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttra munh\u00e4lsan genom intensifierad r\u00e5dgivning under de f\u00f6rsta levnads\u00e5ren till familjer med barn som har ett allvarligt medf\u00f6tt hj\u00e4rtfel och d\u00e4rmed riskerar utveckla endokardit senare i livet (ORALPEDHEART-studien, NCT03329170).<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div
