Autosomal dominant polycystisk njursjukdom (ADPKD) \u00e4r den vanligaste \u00e4rftliga njursjukdomen. IgA-nefropati (IgAN) i sin tur, \u00e4r den vanligaste formen av glomerulonefrit i v\u00e4rlden. Vi kommer att studera ADPKD och IgAN i ett stort (&gt;500.000) patientberikat urval av den finska befolkningen (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.finngen.fi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.finngen.fi<\/a>). M\u00e5let med denna studie \u00e4r att f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttra f\u00f6rst\u00e5elsen av ADPKD och IgAN genom att utnyttja kliniska och genetiska verktyg.<\/p>\n<p>Njursjukdomar \u00f6kar risken f\u00f6r hj\u00e4rt- och k\u00e4rlsjukdomar, tidig d\u00f6d och f\u00f6rs\u00e4mrad livskvalit\u00e9. Inom FinnDiane (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.finndiane.fi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.finndiane.fi<\/a>) studien har man byggt upp en grundlig metodik f\u00f6r att unders\u00f6ka njurens funktion genom att m\u00e4ta den glomerul\u00e4ra filtrationshastigheten (GFR) och det effektiva renala plasmafl\u00f6det (ERPF) samt avbilda njuren med hj\u00e4lp av magnetisk resonanstomografi (MRI) och positronemissionstomografi\/datortomografi (PET\/CT). Analyserandet av data i en studie d\u00e4r man unders\u00f6ker hypoxins roll i tidig njursjukdom hos individer med typ 1-diabetes p\u00e5g\u00e5r. Det viktigaste fyndet hittills \u00e4r att var fj\u00e4rde av dessa asymtomatiska medel\u00e5lders individer med typ 1 diabetes, uppvisade tecken p\u00e5 mikrobl\u00f6dningar hj\u00e4rnan. Studiens slutliga m\u00e5l \u00e4r att utforska samband mellan hj\u00e4rnans och \u00f6gats blodk\u00e4rlsb\u00e4dd samt kognition Tre studenter har hittills publicerat fem artiklar som en del av sina doktorsavhandlingar.   <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Samarbete<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Gruppen har utvecklat ett samarbetsn\u00e4tverk med h\u00f6gprofilerade
