N\u00e4it\u00e4 sairauksia on tutkittu vain v\u00e4h\u00e4n niiden harvinaisuuden sek\u00e4 siit\u00e4 johtuvan riitt\u00e4m\u00e4tt\u00f6m\u00e4n otoskoon ja tilastollisen voiman vuoksi. Autosomaalinen dominantti polykystinen munuaissairaus (ADPKD) on yleisin perinn\u00f6llinen munuaissairaus. IgA-nefropatialla (IgAN) puolestaan on suurin esiintyvyys primaarisista glomerulonefriiteist\u00e4. Tutkimme ADPKD- ja IgAN-sairauksia sek\u00e4 kroonista (CKD) ja diabeettista munuaissairautta (DKD) laajassa (&gt; 500 000 osallistujaa), potilaskeskeisess\u00e4 Suomen v\u00e4est\u00f6n genetiikka-aineistossa (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.finngen.fi\">www.finngen.fi<\/a>). Taustalla olevien biologisten mekanismien selvitt\u00e4miseksi on GWAS-analyysien lis\u00e4ksi tehty kokoeksomisekvensointia (WES) ja proteomiikkaa.<\/p>\n<p>Munuaissairaudet ovat keskeisi\u00e4 syit\u00e4 syd\u00e4n- ja verisuonisairauksiin, varhaiseen kuolleisuuteen ja heikentyneeseen el\u00e4m\u00e4nlaatuun. FinnDiane-tutkimuksen (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.finndiane.fi\">www.finndiane.fi<\/a>) yhteydess\u00e4 on kehitetty perusteellinen tutkimusmetodologia munuaissairauksien tutkimiseksi. T\u00e4m\u00e4 sis\u00e4lt\u00e4\u00e4 ioheksolilla mitatun munuaisker\u00e4sten suodatusnopeuden (iGFR), tehokkaan munuaisplasmavirtauksen (ERPF), munuaisten verihappipitoisuusriippuvaisen (BOLD) magneettikuvauksen (MRI) sek\u00e4 positroniemissiotomografia\/tietokonetomografia (PET\/TT) -kuvaukset eri merkkiaineilla. Lis\u00e4ksi t\u00e4t\u00e4 metodologiaa hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4v\u00e4 l\u00e4\u00e4ketutkimus on k\u00e4ynnistetty.<\/p>\n<p>T\u00e4h\u00e4n FinnDiane-osatutkimukseen osallistuneille tehtiin kattavat tutkimukset, joihin kuului aivojen magneettikuvaus (MRI), genetiikan analyysit (GWAS ja WGS), metabolomiikkaprofiilit, kognitiiviset testit sek\u00e4 verkkokalvon kuvantaminen optisella koherenssitomografia-angiografialla (OCTA). T\u00e4h\u00e4nastinen p\u00e4\u00e4l\u00f6yd\u00f6s on, ett\u00e4 yhdell\u00e4 nelj\u00e4st\u00e4 oireettomasta keski-ik\u00e4isest\u00e4 tyypin 1 diabeetikosta havaittiin merkkej\u00e4 aivojen mikroverenvuodoista. Lopullisena tavoitteena on selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 aivojen, silmien ja kognition v\u00e4lisi\u00e4 rakenteellisia ja toiminnallisia yhteyksi\u00e4. Kolme v\u00e4it\u00f6skirjatutkijaa on t\u00e4h\u00e4n menness\u00e4 julkaissut kahdeksan osatutkimusta osana v\u00e4it\u00f6skirjojaan. Lis\u00e4ksi valtimoveritiet\u00e4 tutkitaan vuorokauden verenpaineen pitk\u00e4aikaisrekister\u00f6innill\u00e4 ja OCTA-kuvantamisella henkil\u00f6ill\u00e4, joille tehd\u00e4\u00e4n kirurginen toimenpide oireettoman kaulavaltimostenoosin vuoksi.<\/p>\n<p>Ryhm\u00e4 on luonut yhteisty\u00f6verkoston korkeatasoisten tutkimusryhmien kanssa sek\u00e4 kansallisesti ett\u00e4
